{ Scarlett Gift Set }

I was so excited when I walked into AC Moore the other day and found out they are going to carry the entire Basic Gray line! I love their designer paper! Since they were all on sale for 40% off I had to grab a few sheets to play with.

I've been wanting to make a set of cards for a long time friend for quite a while now but I haven't had much inspiration to do so. When I saw this paper I was instantly inspired. All the cards were pretty easy, no special techniques or anything here. Just a little heat embossing and a lot of die cuts. I put a layer of vanilla cardstock on the inside stamped with a single flower since you can't write on black nicely. Enjoy!

Recipe:

Ink: SU Craft Basic Black, Going Gray
Embellishments: Misc Ribbon, Brads, Eyelets
Other: Stickles; Cuttlebug & Dies; EK Success Flower Punch, Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch; SU Ticket Punch

{ Monkey Birthday }

Earlier this week I made some invitations for a birthday party my friend is throwing for her one year old. One of the nicknames they have for her baby is "Monkey." So we decided to go with a monkey theme. I had a few sheets of the stamped background left over so I figured I should put it to good use. I'll post the invitations later when they are all done, but for now you can enjoy the birthday card I made with the scraps.

Recipe:

Stamps: SU Monkey Business
Paper: SU Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: SU Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron
Embellishments: Misc Ribbon, Eyelets
Other: Cuttlebug & Embossing Folder; EK Success Scallop Oval Punches; Stickles; SU Ticket Punch, Pastels
Techniques: CB Dry Embossing, Sponging

{ Hot Potato, Hot Potato... }

I just got a tasty little treat in the mail! Oh boy was it yummy! Thanks Melanie (aka Batgirl). See what all the fun is about!

Perfect timing too. I just got my stamping space cleaned up since the trip and I'm ready to go! I might just have some fun stuff to post later today!

Off to care for the little spuds!

{ We're Home }

Just a quick update.

My husband and I finally got home early Sunday morning after a three week trip to California. Sadly my Mother-In-Law passed away two weeks ago. Considering all that is going on everyone is doing okay right now. The worst I think will be his little brother who doesn't really understand what has happened yet. Thank you all so much for your prayers during this time... as strange as it may sound there has been peace and comfort to the believers in the family.

I've been busy today trying to clean up three weeks of cat hair! I think a combination of cat stress, shedding season and the fact that I haven't vacuumed or dusted in three weeks are all to blame. I've never seen so much cat hair in my house! I still have a bunch of stuff to unpack and I go back to work tomorrow, well not "go back" as I work from home, but I have to resume my normal responsibilities starting tomorrow. My Uncle was kind enough to give me today off to try and get the house in order even though they leave in two days for vacation.

I probably won't get to stamp too much this week since I still have a bunch of things to get settled now that I'm home. I'm also in the mood to paint and I have lots of painting around the house to do so I think I'm going to take advantage of that while I can. I'm sure I'll be back to my normal routine by next week though.

Thanks again for all your support and prayers!
