{ Hubby Love }

I wanted to use SU's Letters of Love for my husband's Valentine and I had never attempted a quarter fold card, so I figured this was the perfect time to try it out. I really didn't have anything in mind when I started, other than I wanted to make it as masculine as possible. I don't think I succeeded. I did keep the color scheme good though, the only hit of pink is on the front of the envelope, I had to sneak that in there!

I wanted to keep the card as a whole uniform, which I did, each corner has a bg stamped on it, then a square die cut, stamp frame die cut then a smaller square die cut with the letter stamped on it. I changed it up by using all different bg stamps and techniques on each of the different layers. I stamped one, edged one with pastels, doodled on other, then in the end I added a different embellishment to each letter.... basically I just had fun! And I totally love the way this turned out!! I can't wait till Valentine's Day now to give it to my wonderful husband!

On the inside flaps I wrote a bunch of the cutsie nick names that I call him. I wrote them with my SU Write Marker in Night of Navy so they wouldn't stick out and be a focus point but be just a subtle addition to the card.

{ Kind of Funny }

I'm watching an old episode of Dirt right now, oh the joys of TIVO! The woman had lit herself on fire and her entire face is burned. The funny thing is they covered up her eyebrows to make them look like they were burned off, however, she still has beautiful eyelashes!

Reminds me about a movie I was watching the other day where a woman was on the phone. It's an old corded rotary telephone (anyone remember what those are?! LOL). She turns around and the next shot you see her get upset with the person on the phone and slams the receiver down. Well, I guess her phone magically got some great cordless technology because in that shot there was no cord. Anyway, just thought I'd share.

{ Look, It's Different! }

I said I'd do something different and that I did.... this one is nothing like the others I've done today. Was fun too. I edged all the layers using the regular ink pads. It's really hard to tell from the photo but on the first sage layer I started by using my linen stamp, then I stamped the paisley on top of it. On the top white layer after stamped the flowers I used a paint brush and splattered sage ink over it and masked off the flowers and also stamped my linen stamp over the top. I also used my linen stamp on the ribbon slider. I sure do love the seaside line of ribbon, as you can tell I used a bit of it here, everything that would match that is. I also inked up my white ribbon with sage ink to match the card. So much fun and different! Enjoy.

{ Just Different Enough }

I guess I don't have much inspiration to do anything different, since my last three cards are basically the same. I really like the look of the pastels on the edge of these layer-less cards. The flowers are heat embossed and colored in with watercolor crayons. It's hard to see on this card, but after I tied a knot with the ribbon I used some scrap to tie a second knot next to the first. Well, I think that's about all I can say about this card. Off to create some more, hopefully something different this time. Enjoy.

I was suppose to go to my Aunt & Uncle's house today for a Superbowl party, but I haven't been feeling that great. So instead I'm at home stamping.

I've been trying some things I don't normally do today. This is my second card today with pastels and masking. I also used the kissing technique on the flowers and stems here. Hope you like.

{ You'd Think I Liked This Set }

I've used this set quite a bit lately, you'd think I liked it! I'm still not thrilled with it, but it does make for some very pretty layer-less cards. I broke away from my normal supplies and worked a little with pastels on this card, I'm pretty happy with them so I may try to use them a little more.

{ So Very Loved }

Last one of the day. I tried a new technique today, kissing. I used craft rose red ink on the blossom and craft very vanilla on the paisley bg stamp to make the big blossom. The "SO" circle is popped with dimensionals. The rest is pretty straight forward. Enjoy.

I guess I'm just having a bad week. Today was horrible, just one thing after another. However it did start off good, I went to UPS and picked up a package from UPS full of a ton of fun stuff! Eleven new stamp sets, woohoo! I spent a few hours in front of the t.v. mounting them all. Normally I don't mind mounting stamps, but I got Fancy Flexible Phrases. OMG! That was horrible! I watched two sitcoms and an hour drama on the tivo, so it was a little under two hours to mount them. I hope they are worth it!

Anyway, the first set I had any inspiration to play with was Delight in Life, which considering my week I found kind of ironic. I am extremely happy with this card. I'm not too fond of this set, but I really love this card. It will probably grow on me with time. I chose the color scheme based off the Seaside ribbon. I was kind of iffy about using brown for the bigger flowers, but I think in the end they look great. I also had fun using my new ticket punch. I finally got it! I've been using a scalloped scissor on previous cards, but the end result with the ticket punch is much nicer... and a whole lot easier to use!

My husband actually had a lot more to say about this card than just "cool." He loves the flowers. He thought it was done with one stamp so I had to explain what two step stamping is. Well, I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do.

{ Okay, I Think I LOVE This Set Now! }

When I first saw this set being used in the SCS galleries I really disliked it! I had no intentions of ever wasting my money on it... but free, okay, I'll take that. It was a bonus I got when I signed up as an SU demo. Now I will admit it has grown on me since the first time I saw it so when I got it yesterday I was a little anxious to mount the stamps and use it... I think most of it was the thrill of just having a new set though. I liked the first card I made with it earlier tonight (see my previous post), but I love this card! So quick and simple to make. I think it only took me 20 minutes to make... it probably would have been quicker, but I was talking on the phone at the same time. So anyway, enjoy.

{ A Good Card, Despite the Bad Day... }

Today was horrible... actually, it was yesterday that started it. I had such a bad afternoon and evening that it flowed into today. Even though my morning started off by ordering some fun new stuff to play with and purchasing really good Keith Urban concert tickets the crud from yesterday still managed to affect my entire day today. Then it was just one thing after another today topped off with having to do laundry! Yuck! Fortunately I had a little motivation to stamp tonight. Probably only because I just got a couple new sets in the mail yesterday which I couldn't pull myself to play with then. I can't believe I was able to make anything decent today, but I actually did. I love the background the paisley stamp makes and these flowers are very pretty. The base of the flower is in Regal Rose and the over lay is in Rose Red, much more beautiful in real life. The vanilla layer is popped up with dimensionals and I cut a small slit in the crease so I could tie the ribbon around the front of the card. Well, I think that's it, enjoy.
